摘要: The concept design and detailed information of the SORPES station are introduced. Main scientific findings based 5-year measurements at the station are summarized. The future outlook of the development plan and its implications are discussed. The results improved understanding of interaction of physical and chemical processes. More SORPES-type stations are need to in different regions in China and the world. This work presents an overall introduction to the Station for Observing Regional Processes of the Earth System – SORPES in Nanjing, East China, and gives an overview about main scientific findings in studies of air pollution-weather/climate interactions obtained since 2011. The main results summarized in this paper include overall characteristics of trace gases and aerosols, chemical transformation mechanisms for secondary pollutants like O , HONO and secondary inorganic aerosols, and the air pollution – weather/climate interactions and feedbacks in mixed air pollution plumes from sources like fossil fuel combustion, biomass burning and dust storms. The future outlook of the development plan on instrumentation, networking and data-sharing for the SORPES station is also discussed.

Chemically reactive solute transfer in a boundary layer slip flow along a stretching cylinder

摘要: This paper presents the distribution of a solute undergoing a first order chemical reaction in an axisymmetric laminar boundary layer flow along a stretching cylinder. Velocity slip condition at the boundary is used instead of no-slip condition. Similarity transformations are used to convert the partial differential equations corresponding to momentum and concentration into highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Numerical solutions of these equations are obtained by the shooting method. The velocity decreases with increasing slip parameter. The skin friction as well as the mass transfer rate at the surface is larger for a cylinder than for a flat plate.

Effects of radiation and heat source/sink on unsteady MHD boundary layer flow and heat transfer over

摘要: In this paper, an investigation is made to study the effects of radiation and heat source/sink on the unsteady boundary layer flow and heat transfer past a shrinking sheet with suction/injection. The flow is permeated by an externally applied magnetic field normal to the plane of flow. The self-similar equations corresponding to the velocity and temperature fields are obtained, and then solved numerically by finite difference method using quasilinearization technique. The study reveals that the momentum boundary layer thickness increases with increasing unsteadiness and decreases with magnetic field. The thermal boundary layer thickness decreases with Prandtl number, radiation parameter and heat sink parameter, but it increases with heat source parameter. Moreover, increasing unsteadiness, magnetic field strength, radiation and heat sink strength boost the heat transfer.

Dynamic characteristics analysis of active constrained layer damping plate with various boundary conditions

Considering the direct and converse piezoelectric effect, expressions of piezoelectric membrane internal forces in the piezoelectric constrained layer were given. The control equations of the piezoelectric constrained layer and host plate were obtained in according with the thin plate theory. Based on the layer wised principle, the integrated first order differential equation of an active constrained layer damping (ACLD) plate was derived for the simply supported boundary condition. Then, this method was expanded to the ACLD plate with cantilever boundary condition by virtue of geometric analogy method. Employing the extended homogeneous capacity precision integration approach, a high precision semi-analytical method was proposed to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the ACLD plate with various boundary conditions. The comparison with the literature results has verified the accuracy and effectiveness of the present method.

Numerical study and control method of interaction of nucleation and boundary layer separation in condensing

摘要: The spontaneous nucleation flow in turbine cascade was numerically studied. The model was implemented within a full Navier–Stokes viscous flow solution procedure and the process of condensation was calculated by the quadrature method of moments that shows good accuracy with very broad size distributions. Results were presented for viscous and inviscous flow, showing the influence of boundary layer separation and wake vortices on spontaneous nucleation. The results show that the degree of flow separation in wet steam flow is greater than that in superheated steam flow due to condensation shock and that the loss cannot be neglected. Furthermore, the impact of boundary layer separation and wake vortices on velocity profiles and its implications for profile loss were considered. The calculations showed that layer separation and wake vortices influence nucleation rate, leading to different droplet distributions. A method for controlling homogeneous nucleation and for reducing degree of flow separation in high-speed transonic wet steam flow was presented. The liquid phase parameter distribution is sensitive to the suction side profile of turbine cascade, which impacts the nucleation rate distribution leading to different droplet distributions and affects the degree of flow separation. The numerical study provides a practical design method for turbine blade to reduce wetness losses.

压力梯度作用下相干结构的演化

摘要:

采用共振三波的一个周期作为湍流边界层近壁区相干结构的初值,用直接数值模拟方法对有压力梯度,包括定常压力梯度和变压力梯度作用下相干结构的演化进行了研究,得出其各种特性的变化与实验观测到的结果一致。压力梯度对相干结构初始扰动波的选择以及演化过程都起作用,相比之下对前者的作用更大。条纹结构和流向涡之间有某种内在的紧密的联系,可能是产生流向涡的起因。

逆压梯度下近壁湍流的喷射和扫掠

摘要:

采用Fourier谱展开和紧致有限差分格式,选用两组共振三波为相干结构的初值,计算了其在零压和逆压梯度作用下的演化。对演化后期流场的2,4象限的运动进行了详细的分析。结果发现,在逆压梯度下,扫掠对雷诺应力的贡献要强于喷射。无论是在零压梯度还是逆压梯度下,uv和u2在法向的输运主要是靠Q2和Q4这两种运动来完成的。零压梯度下喷射部分对输运的贡献大于扫掠的部分。而在逆压梯度下喷射部分对输运的贡献明显减少,扫掠的作用要强于喷射。

Estimating the effects of meteorology on PM

摘要: Particulate pollution was a critical challenge to the promise of good air quality during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which took place from August 8th to 24th. To ensure good air quality for the Games, several temporary emission control measures were implemented in Beijing and surrounding areas. Ambient particulate matter concentration decreased significantly during the Olympic period; however, it is difficult to distinguish the effectiveness of those control measures since meteorology also affects ambient PM concentration. In this work, a multiple linear regression model based on continuous field monitoring at a roadside site was conducted to evaluate the effects of meteorology and emission control measures on the reduction of PM during the 2008 Olympic Games. The hourly data set was divided into two time periods, the no control period, June 22nd to July 4th, and the control period, July 28th to August 21st. The response variable was PM and the meteorology covariates used in the model were hourly temperature, dew point temperature, wind speed and precipitation. Wind direction was not a significant predictor of PM levels in either the control or the no control period. Using the meteorologically-based regression coefficients from the two time periods, meteorology was found to contribute to at least a 16% reduction in PM levels in the roadside microenvironment; while the pollution control measures contributed to at least a 43% reduction in PM levels.

Joule heating on electro-osmotic flow in a closed-end micro-channel with isothermal and convective boundary

摘要: The effect of Joule heating on the steady state electro-osmotic flow in a closed-end micro-channel is studied through numerical simulation with the finite volume method. The velocity field and the temperature field are described by a rigorous mathematical model. Thermophysical properties including viscosity and thermal conductivity are considered to be temperature-dependent. The simulations show that the presence of Joule heating causes an increase in temperature and a decrease in viscosity in the whole micro-channel, which, thereafter, induce a large velocity near the wall and an increase in fluid velocity at the central region in order to maintain a zero flow rate at the cross section of the micro-channel. The effect of Joule heating on the induced pressure gradient is also studied, which is very important for the application of the closed-end micro-channel as a micro-actuator. The results reveal that the induced pressure gradient, taking into consideration Joule heating, is significantly smaller than that without considering Joule heating when the wall temperature of the micro-channel is constant. The induced pressure gradient difference between considering Joule heating and without considering Joule heating is small under the convective boundary condition.

Principle and curve of planetary indexing cam mechanisms

摘要: A new type of planetary indexing cam mechanism called type !c is presented. The transmission principle of type !c is discussed. Based on the principle of formation of conjugate tooth contour, the equations of the cam s pitch curve are derived. The continuity and symmetry of the cam s pitch curve are also analyzed. It can be concluded that: 1) This type has no output institution so the output precision can be improved; 2) The asymmetrical two-ring structure is used to overcome dead point and its phase angle is equal to (π - 2π/n); 3) The continuous condition of the cam s pitch curve is that the average transmission ratio is -n in an intermittent motion period.

Analysis of planetary gear transmission in non-stationary operations

Planetary gearboxes operate usually in non-stationary conditions generated mainly by variable loads applied to these transmissions. In order to understand the dynamic behavior of planetary gearboxes in such conditions, a mathematic model is developed including driving unit, transmission and load. The variability of load induces a variable speed of the transmission which is taken into account when characterizing the main dynamic parameter of the transmission which is the mesh stiffness function. This function is not periodic following the variability of the transmission speed. The computation of the dynamic response shows an intimate relation between the vibration amplitude level and the load value. As the load increase the vibration level increase. A combined amplitude and frequency modulation is observed which is well characterized using Short Time Fourier transform more suited than the spectral analysis.

Magnetohydrodynamic slip flow and diffusion of a reactive solute past a permeable flat plate with suction/injection

摘要: The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer slip flow and solute transfer over a porous plate in the presence of a chemical reaction are investigated. The governing equations were transformed into self-similar ordinary differential equations by adopting the similarity transformation technique. Then the numerical solutions are obtained by a shooting technique using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. The study reveals that due to the increase in the boundary slip, the concentration decreases and the velocity increases. On the other hand, with an increase in the magnetic field and mass suction, both boundary layer thicknesses decreased. As the Schmidt number and the reaction rate parameter increases, the concentration decreases and the mass transfer increases.

Planet position errors in planetary transmission: Effect on load sharing and transmission error

In this paper an advanced model of spur gear transmissions developed by the authors is used to study the influence of carrier planet pin hole position errors on the behaviour of the transmission. The model, initially conceived for external gear modeling, has been extended with internal meshing features, and thus increasing its capabilities to include planetary transmission modeling. The new features are presented, along with the summary of the model general approach. The parameters and characteristics of the planetary transmission used in the paper are introduced. The influence of carrier planet pin hole position errors on the planet load sharing is studied, and several static cases are given as examples in order to show the ability of the model. Tangential and radial planet pin hole position errors are considered independently, and the effect of the load level is also taken into account. It is also given attention to the effect on the transmission error of the transmission. Two different configurations for the planetary transmission are used, attending to the fixed or floating condition of the sun, and the differences in terms of load sharing ratio are shown.

基于过流面冲蚀波纹形貌特征与流体边界层扰动波参数的对应关系,提出了实现弹性涂层边壁与边界层扰动波的同步波动,从而变边壁被动承受粒子冲击为主动回避与粒子的碰撞的抗冲蚀设计思想;分析了实现弹性涂层边壁与边界层扰动波同步波动的条件,并由此确定出弹性涂层的材料常数。

微波温度计是一个多通道的被动微波辐射计,用于风云三号气象卫星,风云三号工作在太阳同步轨道。本文描述了微波温度计的功能和性能,微波温度计系统由天线子系统、接收子系统、信号处理和控制子系统、定标子系统和扫描伺服子系统组成,微波温度计的4个接收通道的中心频率分别为50.30 GHz、53.596 GHz、54.94 GHz和57.29 GHz,用于探测大气垂直温度分布。
